Manchester United are preparing an offer to bring Marco Verratti to Old Trafford to complement the potential arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is highly-rated and the French club will be reluctant to let one of their key players leave the club especially after already losing the Swedish striker, who will be a free agent once his contract expires on 30 June.
The Red Devils are planning to launch a £79m (€100m, $112m) move to tempt the Ligue 1 champions into selling the Italian midfielder, who is currently injured and reportedly on holiday with his manager. Jose Mourinho has made strengthening the United midfield one his main priorities in the summer, and has been linked with a number of players, including Paul Pogba, in recent weeks.
The Sweden international forward has agreed a one-year deal with United, but the striker has remained tight-lipped with regards to his future destination. However, Ibrahimovic – currently participating at Euro 2016 — revealed that the delay is about to end and that an announcement will be made soon.
“What the future will be, you will know soon. But I enjoy football. Wherever I go I will be the same person and I will enjoy” – the Swede said.
