Thursday’s New York Yankees-Detroit Tigers game was absolute insanity.
Everybody on both teams appears to have been hit by a ball or a punch at least once.
One who got it the worst was Tigers catcher James McCann, who was hit in the head by a Dellin Betances pitch. Whether it was intentional or not remains to be known, but Betances got ejected anyway.
McCann would have his revenge in the eighth inning, however, as he hit a solo homer off Yankees pitcher Caleb Smith to give the Tigers a 10-6 lead. What makes this even more vengeful is that McCann’s home run actually beaned a Yankees fan right in the face.
