Nothing lasts forever.
Jeff Banister’s time as the Texas Rangers manager has run its course, even though it began with far more positives than negatives.
In recent years, however, playoff failures have congealed into failure overall, and Banister’s now lost his position, just three years after winning the AL Manager of the Year.
Two MLB American League West titles, 325 wins, and AL Manager of the Year is a solid set of accolades for Banister’s time while managing the Rangers.
Personally, I think it’s somewhat disrespectful to fire Banister so close to the end of the season. There are 10 games left in the regular season, and I think he deserved to finish it out with the team.
However, there was a report that Banister had lost the team and they didn’t want to deal with him much longer, hence the out-of-the-blue firing
