THEO WALCOTT has a slight injury and is a doubt for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger has revealed.
Walcott has been in fine for for Arsenal this season, scoring eight goals in 11 appearances and providing two assists.
The 27-year-old did not feature in the 2-0 EFL Cup win over Reading on Tuesday night.
And Arsene Wenger has since revealed the winger is suffering from a hamstring injury, making him a doubt for the Gunners’ trip to Sunderland on Saturday.
“He has a slight hamstring alert – a very minor one,” Wenger said.
“He will have a test today.
“If he’s not back for this weekend he will be back for Tuesday’s Champions League game against Ludogorets.”
Walcott is likely to be replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the starting XI after his fine performance against Reading midweek.
The 23-year-old scored twice against the Royals and has now barded five goals in 12 appearances for the Gunners.
Arsenal will also be without striker Lucas Perez long term after Wenger confirmed he could be out for as much as eight weeks
