In recent transfer windows, United’s interest in the Frenchman has been heavily reported and it seems as though those links just won’t go away.
A new central defender has been earmarked as a priority signing for United this summer, with Jose Mourinho eager to land a top-tier partner for Eric Bailly in the heart of his defence, particularly with Champions League football to play next season.
Mourinho signed Varane for Real Madrid in 2011, and the centre-back excelled under the Portuguese.
A reunion with Mourinho at United isn’t out of the question, though it would be a surprise to see Varane move considering fellow centre-back Pepe is widely expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer.
