The 2018 NFL draft is just over one month away now.

It will take place between the 26-28 April and is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent years.

Teams have been busy trading in the weeks building up to the occasion and last weekend, the New York Jets and the Indianapolis Colts made a blockbuster deal.

The Colts agreed to swap their number three pick for the Jets number six spot and acquired multiple second-round picks as well.

It was a trade that the Jets needed to make too. They’re now in prime position to take a franchise quarterback as the new number three pick.

Had they kept their original place on the board, New York would really have struggled to get their first choice QB.

Indianapolis will be happy enough moving down in the draft and acquiring a handful of second-round picks.

They’ve put their trust in Andrew Luck, so really didn’t need that third spot anyway.

The Jets though, now have a much better opportunity to select one of the hottest quarterbacks on the board.

When they had the sixth pick, it’s likely they were looking at UCLA’s Josh Rosen or Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield, but now they could go after two other names.

USC’s Sam Darnold and Wyoming’s Josh Allen could be available after the Cleveland Browns make their pick – which is expected to be a quarterback too.

“The first guy who pops to my mind is Lamar Jackson,” Watson said during an interview on Reiter’s Block, per CBS.

“I feel like whatever team decides to pick him, he’s going to get in there and surprise a lot of coaches and also, a lot of teammates.”

He justified his surprise call by suggesting Jackson brings a lot to the table but made it clear he’ll still have a lot to learn.
