After the Anaheim Ducks won the game that would advance them in the NHL Western Conference Finals, Emilio Estevez found himself receiving many calls of congratulations.
“I’m really getting sick of this. It was cute at first, but it’s been all night,” said a visibly irritated Emilio Estevez in his Los Angeles home, just having watched the big game. “Also, one person called about the Breakfast Club, which was random and weird too.”
Estevez famously portrayed coach Gordon Bombay in the films The Mighty Ducks and D2: The Mighty Ducks, and regularly gets mistaken for the Anaheim Ducks’ actual coach.
“No, yeah, I’m not involved in any way,” said an annoyed Estevez to a caller who refused to understand the lack of connection. “That’s a professional hockey team, I played a coach for kids in a movie a couple times. Yeah, no, common misunderstanding. Glad you’ve got it, say hi to dad for me, Charlie.”
