One of those sports stars who has helped out is the Rockets’ Harden, as, during a news conference at the NRG Center with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner on Saturday, according to ESPN, the point guard has said he will donate $1 million to the city of Houston to aid in Hurricane Harvey recovery.
The 28-year-old regards Houston as his home despite the fact he went to high school in California and college in Arizona. When a fan asked him to never leave Houston, Harden reassured him that he wouldn’t be going anywhere.
He said on Twitter in response to the fan’s plea for him to never leave Houston: “Promise I won’t. #Rocket4Life”
