The three-time NFL Defensive Player Of The Year Award winner suffered a devastating injury this past Sunday in the midst of play against the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday Night Football. Watt’s knee buckled and he went down to the ground in a ton of pain.

Watt is one of the toughest men in the game, and for fans to see him in such pain – holding back tears, it was clear to see the injury was serious.

It was alter revealed that Watt suffered a fractured tibial plateau in his left leg and season-ending surgery would be required to repair it. This is the second season in a row that Watt has missed due to injury.

The Wisconsin University product made a name for himself in 2012 when he racked up 20.5 sacks in the regular season to go along with four forced fumbles and 81 tackles. In 2014 he mimicked that season with another 20.5 sacks, in addition to 78 tackles, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery for a score, and an 80 yard interception for a touchdown.

He was also a force on the offensive side of the ball when he caught three passes for three touchdowns each. Last season in 2016 Watt suffered the first major injury of his NFL career, a back injury that would force him to hang up the boots for the season.

After returning from injury earlier this year, when the Texans had all the hope in the world to make a lengthy playoff run after the drafting of rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson, Watt’s season was cut short yet again.

Watt underwent successful surgery to repair the injury, and posted the following picture after the operation:
