Express Sport understands Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been a fan of the 22-year-old for some time and considered making a move for him in January.
However, Klopp delayed striking a deal for Zielinski as he wanted to further assess the player’s suitability.
And with a deal to bring the midfielder to Anfield apparently stalling, Napoli emerged as potential suitors.
But now Italian journalist Tancredo Palmeri claims the Poland international will reject Napoli’s advances and will try to push for a move to Liverpool.
Klopp has set his sights on securing a deal for Barcelona winger Cristian Tello, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has not played for Barca since 2014 having been on a two-year loan with FC Porto.
Tello’s time in Portugal was cut short in January when he was again sent out on loan to Serie A side Fiorentina with an option to buy for £6.3million.
It is claimed the Italian outfit want to exercise this option to secure a permanent deal for Tello after impressing in his 15 outings, producing five assists and scoring two goals.
However, Spanish newspaper Sport claim Liverpool could pip Fiorentina to a deal, with Reds boss Klopp said to be keen on bringing the Spain international to Anfield.
Finally, Real Madrid are readying a £5.5m bid to sign Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan.
That is according to the Daily Mirror, who claim Real executive Emilio Butragueno has been impressed by his talents and alerted the club’s scouts about securing a deal for him.
It is said Real will lodge a £5.5m bid with a number of additional clauses.
Real’s interest in Brannagan reportedly came from first noticing the youngster when the Reds played Los Blancos in the UEFA Youth League back in 2014.
The reports adds Real will face competition from better rivals Barcelona who have also been scouting the 20-year-old.
