Former Leeds United full-back Ian Harte has taken to Twitter to praise one of the club’s up-and-coming youngsters, Jack Clarke, who is now represented by the one-time Elland Road favourite.
Clarke is a 16-year-old forward who has been making waves at under-16 and under-18 level for Leeds and he is being tipped to go all the way by his agent.
When asked on Twitter if he represents the youngster, Harte replied, “Yes, he is a top talent. Remember the name.”
Clarke is a first year scholar at Leeds and he has a long way to go before he is knocking on the door of Whites boss Thomas Christiansen.
That said, he is certainly impressing at lower age levels and it will be interesting to watch him develop in the years ahead.
Leeds are famous for bringing youth through the ranks and benefiting as a consequence, and Clarke is just one of a number of teenagers hoping to follow suit.
The under-23 side are struggling after a raft of new arrivals this summer, but such is the talent at their disposal that they are expected to build up a head of steam and ultimately develop a few first-team stars of tomorrow.
The same could be said of Clarke, who is clearly rated highly by someone who knows exactly what it takes to succeed at Leeds, and the young forward would be wise to listen to everything Harte has to tell him.
