The road to October is in full swing as fewer than 40 games remain in the regular season.

Although a tight race remains for the 10 playoff teams, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday its postseason schedule beginning Tuesday, Oct. 4, with the AL wild-card game on TBS.

The NL wild-card game will follow a day later (on ESPN), with the division series beginning on Oct. 6 (AL, TBS) and 7 (NL, FS1 or MLB Network).

Game 1 of the World Series (Fox) is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 25, in the ballpark of the AL champions.

As the season winds down, the tightest division races belong to the AL East with the Blue Jays, Red Sox and Orioles separated by two games entering Tuesday’s play. The Dodgers-Giants rivalry will come down to the wire as the teams face off nine more times to decide the NL West crown.
