David Beckham wants Everton’s Wayne Rooney to play for Miami’s football team ahead of it joining the MLS in 2020, according to the Daily Mirror.
The newspaper claim that the football icon, who is one of the owners of Miami’s football team, wants to welcome world-class players to America and has Rooney in his sights.
The Daily Mirror report that the 32-year-old Everton striker has often talked about finishing his playing career in the MLS.
Rooney rejoined the Toffees in the summer, after a 13-year spell at Manchester United, and has scored 11 goals in 35 appearances this season.
The veteran forward’s current contract is set to only keep him at Goodison Park until 2019.
