USA vs. Serbia gold medal game at Rio Olympics 2016

Team USA will play for the gold medal against Serbia at the 2016 Olympics Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is at 2:45 p.m. ET and the game will be shown on NBC Sports Network.

It will be streamed online via NBC Sports.

The Americans topped rival Spain in the semifinals, 82-76, extending their Olympic winning streak to 24 games and setting up a rematch from pool play against the No. 6 team in the world.

In the earlier meeting against Serbia, Team USA escaped with the 100-97 win.

But the two teams will meet again Sunday and Serbia has built confidence after advancing to the gold medal game with an impressive 87-61 win against Australia on Friday.

Point guard Milos Teodosic, who has one year remaining on his overseas contract before possibly coming to the NBA, scored a game-high 22 points to go with five assists in Serbia’s most recent win.

Teodosic has dished out 40 assists, which is the third most in the Olympics.

Serbia also features Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic, who finished third in NBA Rookie of the Year voting.

Team USA is led By Kevin Durant, who is tied for fifth in tournament scoring at 17.9 points per game. Carmelo Anthony is averaging 12.9 points while Kyrie Irving is also in double figures, chipping in with 12.4 points per contest.

The United States has won two straight Olympic gold medals, topping Spain in 2008 and again in 2012.
