Tottenham Hotspur’s Dutch striker Vincent Janssen is officially one of the fastest players in the Premier League, according to stats from Opta.
Janssen’s top speed of 34.6km/h is the 17th quickest recorded in the league so far this season and means he is Spurs’ second fastest player.
Kyle Walker is the only other Tottenham representative in the top 20, his fastest speed of 35.18km/h puts him third in the list with only Sunderland youngster Lynden Gooch and Southampton’s Shane Long ahead of him.
Janssen has come under fire from fans on social media recently for his lack of goals, he netted his second Spurs goal from the penalty spot on Tuesday night but is yet to score in the Premier League or from open play.
Mauricio Pochettino emphasised the need to give the 22-year-old time after his £18.6m summer move from AZ Alkmaar.
‘We are very happy with him,” Pochettino explained. “We need to understand that he’s 22, he’s come in from the Netherlands, a different league, and always we need to give time.
“But one thing is clear, that he is a player who works a lot, who is always involved and the commitment he shows in every game and every training session is fantastic.”
