Hockey fights are weird. Often times, players duke it not because they have any real animosity towards each other, but because it’s their job.
On Saturday, the San Jose Sharks’ Brenden Dillon got in a tussle with the Nashville Predators’ Austin Watson, and the two threw a few punches before settling into an aggressive slow dance.
Lucky for us, Dillon was wearing a microphone the entire time, and the two exchanged some penalty box small talk that shows how deep player camaraderie sometimes runs.
Dillon: Hey Wats, we gotta work on our cardio this summer, huh?
Watson: I’m dyin’ after like 10 seconds, man. I’ll come see Joey, we’ll mix it in.
Dillion: Joey doesn’t know cardio.
Watson: Good luck the rest of the year bud.
Dillion: Thanks, you too buddy!
